Media Alert: Internet Security Alliance President to Testify at U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee Hearing
At 10:00AM on Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009, Internet Security Alliance (ISA) President Larry Clinton will testify at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security.
The topic of Tuesday’s hearing is: “Cybersecurity: Preventing Terrorist Attacks and Protecting Privacy in Cyberspace”.
In addition to ISA, the Departments of Justice, Defense, and Homeland Security, and the Center for Democracy and Technology have also been asked to testify.
Tuesday’s hearing will mark ISA’s first appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee (ISA has previously testified before many other Congressional Committees), and it is being held so that the Senate Judiciary Committee can establish a record in the event that cyber security legislation begins to move in the Senate (the Judiciary Committee would expect to hold some jurisdiction over any such legislation).
Mr. Clinton’s testimony will focus on ISA’s analysis of cyber security as an economic issue, and Mr. Clinton will present ISA’s views regarding financial risk management, the use of market-based incentives, and cyber insurance.
The hearing will be broadcast live, so if you are interested in watching the live webcast.
