Monday, November 2 at 5:00pm: IT Sector Coordinating Council Executive Committee Conference Call. The Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council was established on January 27, 2006 for the purposes of bringing together companies, associations, and other key IT sector participants on a regular basis to coordinate strategic activities and communicate broad sector member views associated with infrastructure protection, response and recovery that are broadly relevant to the IT Sector. The IT sector envisions a secure, resilient, and protected global information infrastructure that can rapidly restore services if affected by an emergency or crisis, ensuring the continued and efficient function of information technologies, infrastructures and services for people, governments, and businesses worldwide. The Executive Committee manages the affairs of the IT-SCC in the same way that a board of directors would manage the affairs of a “for profit” company.
Monday, November 2-6: Software Assurance Forum. The SwA Forum brings together members of government, industry, and academia with vested interests in software assurance to discuss and promote integrity, security, and reliability in software. Progress updates on relevant programs and initiatives will be presented. If you are implementing practical solutions to problems related to examining alternatives to mitigate security risks attributable to software, then you should attend the forum to better understand what others are doing and extend your network of collaborators.
Tuesday, November 3 -5: ICSJWG 2009 Fall Conference. This event will provide control systems stakeholders from industry , government, academia, international, vendor and research and development communities with an opportunity to network and engage in discussions related to securing control systems.
Wednesday, November 4 at 3:00pm: IT Sector Coordinating Council Protective Programs and Research and Development (PPRD) Working Group. This group is responsible for the development of sector policy with respect to its partnership with Department of Homeland Security, including support for the continued development and refinement of the Sector Specific Plan and other documents associated with the National Infrastructure Partnership Plan and critical Infrastructure protection. Currently, this group is composed of two subgroups in cooperation with the Agency representatives on the Government Coordinating Council focused on the Sector Specific Plan. These subgroups include a Critical Functions and Information Sharing group as well as a Protective Programs and Research and Development group.
Thursday, November 5 at 2:00pm: ISA/AIA webinar. Testing In A “Real” Environment Leads to Faster Cyber Security Innovation. Presenting this session will be Curt Aubley and Charlie Croom, LMCO.
Friday, November 6 at 1:00pm: IT Sector Coordinating Council Risk Assessment Working Group. The Risk Assessment working group completes the initial comprehensive Sector Baseline Risk Assessment, and works with the Communications and Outreach committee to spread awareness of the results and of the final report. This group will also map out a plan for the ongoing maintenance and update of the Sector Risk Assessment.
Wednesday, November 11 at 10:00am: IT Sector Coordinating Council Communications and Outreach Committee Working Group. The Communications and Outreach Committee creates and maintains all communications documents. These documents include the ITSCC 101 presentation, the IT Sector Scorecard, the PCIS Handbook, and the website. This working group reaches out across both sectors and states, spreading awareness of IT SCC efforts and accomplishments. Some of these tasks are supported by the Executive Secretariat.
November 16: CyLab Business Risks Forum: Electronic Self-Help - White Hats, Black Markets, and Grey Laws. This presentation is part of unique CyLab sponsored series related to the CyLab Intelligence Briefings and Culture of Security. Richard Power, Distinguished Fellow – CyLab, will host the series with Erin Kenneally as the presenter.
Monday, November 16 at 1:00pm: Cross Sector Cyber Security Working Group (CSCSWG) meeting. Managing cyber risk is an issue that cuts across all of the nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources, and across-sector perspective will ensure effective coordination to address cyber security in a collaborative manner with all of the sectors. To meet this need, the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security and Communications, Greg Garcia, proposed to establish the CSCSWG under the auspices of the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC). The CSCSWG serves as a forum to bring government and the private sector together to address common cyber security challenges and opportunities across the CI/KR sectors.

Tuesday, November 17 at 2:00pm: IT Sector Coordinating Council (IT-SCC) Plans and Reports Working Group meeting. The Plans and Reports working group consists of chairs from each of the IT SCC committees, and will focus the planning and reports coming from each of the committees. This includes annual updates and activities such as the Sector Annual Report, Section Specific Plan update, Tier 1 - Tier 2, and SHIRA, among others.
Thursday, November 19 at 2:00pm: ISA/AIA Webinar. Supply Chain Issues in Cyber Security — A Framework for Moving Forward – Scott Borg has been invited to present this session.
